Dear Friends, Here bellow you can ask your questions which will be answered briefly by our TECHNOLOGICAL consultant, Mr. Frank Pantzaris, a well known expert and consultant in tropical oils based in England.

You can ask ONLY TECHNOLOGICAL general questions that can be easy to answer (something like FAQ). Please do not ask questions about prices and companies. All questions pls send to info@palmoil.com with a mark "Q&A".

"I am taking this opportunity to request all people who ask me questions to help me, if possible, by telling me something about their background and country so that I might phrase my answers accordingly. For example, students, technologists and traders need a different kind of explanation. Regards, FP."

Dear Frank, For wafer stick production with chocolate filling inside, can a manufacturer use HPKO (CBS) for the chocolate filling and use shortening for the wafer stick? As the former is lauric and the latter is non-lauric, wouldn't that pose danger to the product's taste and shelf life? Would fat bloom occur since two different types of fats were used? To avoid this, would you recommend to use HPKO for the wafer stick too? Maybe you can discuss merits/demerits for my suggestion. Thank you. Regards, Henny

Dear Sir, We are a company that manufacture soap and we are now trying to use PFAD as a raw material. I know that some compagnies can produce soap with 50% of this raw material. We are now experiencing problem with producing soap with 50% pfad since the maximum we were able to use in our plant is 15%. I would like to know what is your advice to allow us to use pfad to an higher percentage. Also, i would like to know what is the titer of palm olein. I was surprised to see that the test show me a result of 44 for titer of palm olein since i know that it melt at max 24 degres and cloud point 8 deg. I dont understand how come i got this high value for the titer of palm olein since this is liquid at room temperature. Thank you.

Hi, I am a businessman and I am thinking of selling Palm Oil by repacking them in pouches or bottles to be sold as cooking oil. The problem is, the PO solidifies almost instantly. Even if I just leave it at room temperature. And as soon as it solidifies, it doesnt go back to it's clear state. Is there any other way or some sort of additive that I can apply on the oil so as to keep it in it's clear liquid form even at low temp? I read that it solidifies at 40 C.

Dear Sir, We are manufacturers of laundry soap in Pakistan. We use semiboiling process for manufacturing soap (In Crutcher). At present we are manufacturing 50 TFM laundry soap by adding sodium silicate and soap stone as fillers. Soap stone is 6% and the rest is Sodium Silicate. After going through the crutcher the hot soap passes through Vaccum spray Chamber for drying. I want to take down by TFM to 33%. If I add more silicate or soap stone then the soap becomes very hard and difficult to pump. Any suggestions on how to achieve that? Any substitute filler or process change that you may recommend. Look forward to your guidance.
